Silly panda I drew (note: I have no drawing skills) with the help of drawingforkids.com and painted her with acrylics. Use 1 in. metal braces to attach the 3 canvases together and mounted it on the wall. The last step is a coat of acrylic varnish and we’re set!

After looking up youtube videos on how to make a hairtie, and then refusing to go dig up my hot glue gun, I spent about 20 mins getting this green bow made from some leftover ribbon lying around the house. Panda pillow is stuffed about 1.5 inches thick and sewed half an inch around the border, with 2 black button eyes. All feltie!

Fabric bowtie- for the panda pillow’s head (it’s a girl) that I fancied up from some scrap piece of ribbon and a clear chiseled shaped button with green thread. I just folded it up to look nice, poked a large pin to hold it in place, and then sewed around it to hold it together. ‘Twas too much work figuring out the exact steps in creating a bowtie.

After heat-sealing both the small and the large painted stencils (and picking apart the leftover remnants of freezer paper with tweezers)- I sewed the small one as a front pocket/patch so there are contrasting colors on both sides of the tee. Harry Potter phase down.

Gryffindor stencil in a mini-version and also a larger version. The key and the flaw, with using the freezer paper as your stencil is all in the details. The more cut-outs you have and the more you saturate the paper with paint, the harder it is to remove all pieces. Hard work pays off if you’re a Harry Potter fan!

Finished Darth Vader - with a red light saber. I made a green one for Yoda and was reminded to remember the color of his is the same color as his body. Duh mom. The light sabers are detachable- I just used a small piece of sticky-backed velcro wrapped around the felt handle, around a pipe cleaner. Darth’s helmet was a little tricky but turned out ok.

Yoda! finger puppet style of course. Used some fabric glue for his nose, mouse, and two googly eyes and he’s finished! He was way easier than R2D2 since less gluing was involved, and will also probably hold up better with the kid play. A new request was made: a light saber for Yoda. #upnext

Getting back to the felt projects- finger puppet Yoda to go along with my previous finger puppet R2D2. More hand-sewing was involved than I’d like, but luckily most of the work was cutting the green, brown, and gray felt pieces. Since the kiddo got his kindergarten “scissor license” I put him to work.

Golden snitches completed - I found a template online for the wings in a tutorial and it was an easy breezy project. There was no fishing line around the house, but I’m hoping these can hold up to be great Christmas ornaments soon. Also, the idea of making one in each of the HP house colors came up.

Final product- a washable, flannel pee teepee that took about 15 minutes to complete. Just what every mom of boys needs! Great baby gift- I’ve seen these at craft shows selling for about $6-9 each.
